Pakistan Punjab Province Food and Mineral Resources Minister Abdul Chafoor visited a family that survived the earthquake, and which KYM gave a helping hand to in Van. Pakistan Minister presented a crib as a gift for the baby.
One week ago in a KYM tent, a baby was born as the seventh child for the family and was given the name "Fethullah".
Following the minister's visit, the baby was given a second name, "Chafoor", after the minister took the baby into him lap and said that all necessary help for the family will be given.
The earthquake of a severe magnitude of 7.2 occurred on October 23rd and Masallah Doner's (the mother) house was destroyed and now unusable. She said, "we have been trying to survive in the tent with my baby and after our visit with the Pakistani Minister we became very happy."
Minister Chafoor chatted for a while with the mother and said that the Pakistan government had sent aid to the earthquake area and that the assistance will continue. Chafoor also stated, "I hope such a disaster will not happen again. Turkey has helped us before and we will continue our assistance as much as we are able."
