KYM officials working in Somalia carried out another perfect project. Additions were made to the Mogadishu water system which brought water to two nearby camps where 36,000 people are living.

KYM officials have been in Somalia since July 26th and continue to produce effective solutions to the hunger and thirst problems in the region. Continuous distribution of hot meals during the month of Ramadan brought delight to hundreds of thousands of Somalians. At the same time cash assistance from Turkey reached Somalia and was used to purchase basic food supplies from the region which was distributed to camps in the region, and to stop children from dying, the health teams started treating the Somalian children with medicine.

Security problems continue in the region and KYM officials are successful in handling the emergency water needs of 36 thousand people. Officials furnished additional pipes which directed water from the capital's water system to the camps and creating fountains there and is a very beneficial action toward the cholera problem.

KYM Foundation's International Aid Coordinator Yusuf Yildirim stated that during Ramadan, all of Anatolia joined hands for Africa and we are working very hard in mobilizing the funds collected and deliver it to the region and in very short time we are going to open or restore 120 water wells and 260,000 people will benefit from them.
