Ankara hosts Turkish language contest

An annual World Turkish language contest is being held in Turkey with hundreds of pupils from Turkish schools around the world taking part in it. Kazakhstan is represented by 33 pupils from Kazakh-Turkish high schools at this prestigious educational event. Before getting there, they made it through a tough and competitive selection process.

Participants of the annual contest, which has become Turkey’s trademark, speak Turkish, sing in Turkish, and read poetry in Turkish. However, each of them wore their national costumes on the stage during the singing competition.

Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Kazakh Ambassador to Turkey:
- Thanks to this policy, the promotion of learning the Turkish language and literature, they are doing a great job in terms of image at the same time. After graduating from their educational institutions these pupils become Turkish patriots.
