Kimse Yok Mu holds iftar dinner for Bosnian orphans

Kimse Yok Mu Foundation (KYM) recently held an exclusive event for the Bosnian orphans. Some 150 orphans from SOS village and Byelave Dormitory were received at Burch University in Sarajevo, where a special mime performance and iftar dinner were held in their honor. Director of the foundation Izvor Nade, KYM affiliate in Bosnia, Harun Tursan noted the event aimed to get the Bosnian orphans experience a special night. “We wanted to make a surprise for our children from SOS village and Byelave Dormitory. Tonight has been a follow-up to our past events. We intend to hold more charity events for our children. In addition to tonight’s gathering, we aim to serve iftar dinners for 10 thousand throughout the month of Ramadan.”

Turkish school graduates in Bosnia now teachers at alma maters

Ten graduates of Turkish schools in Bosnia which were opened right after the Bosnian war are now working as teachers at the schools they attended as students, the Anatolia news agency has reported.

The Turkish schools, which were opened with the help of volunteer Turkish teachers right after the 1992-1995 Bosnian war, are among the top educational institutions in the country.

Missing out on a coveted first place finish might not seem like it would be the best thing to happen to would-be participants in the Turkish Language Olympiads, but it has turned out to be an award in itself as this is how they had the chance to take a mini tour of Turkey.

Students from all around the world who were runners-up in competitions in their native lands to earn a berth at the Turkish Language Olympiads were invited to Turkey to display their talents in several Turkish provinces, stretching from East to West.

Serbian Military Headquarters Turned into a Turkish School

A building in Sarajevo's Vraca neighborhood that was once a command base at which Serbian fascists used to torture Bosnian prisoners during the war (1992-1995) is now serving as a Turkish school where Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian students are receiving an education under the same roof.

The schools founded by Turkish volunteers in the aftermath of the war have become among the most successful schools in the country. The building of the first Turkish school among the 7 elementary and high schools, and a university stands out with a different story.
