Turkish Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen, whose ideas inspired the faith based Hizmet movement, denied claims made by the Sabah daily claiming that Gülen sent a letter of alliance to the PKK
through his lawyer Nurullah Albayrak, who said, “The media report is totally fabricated and slanderous. Attempting to establish a link between my client, who has never been engaged in any act of violence in his whole life, and the PKK terror organization is nothing but a part of smear campaign against Gülen. Portraying a man who has dedicated his whole life to peace and compromise with having ties to an illegal structure is an injustice, to say the least.”
