Chairman of Turkey's flagship carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) Hamdi Topçu has criticized an offensive tweet about Turkish Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen, saying that “necessary steps will be taken.”
Topçu was reacting to a tweet by Serdar Öztürk, THY brand consultant, in which he made an offensive joke about Gülen.
“No matter with what intention the impolite tweet was posted by a THY [department] chief, it is impossible for us to accept it; what is necessary will be done,” Topçu tweeted.
