Gülen's explanation

Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen has attempted to soften the situation.

“No one has any goal of conflicting with the government. The people who want to appear as such are instigators and mischief-makers,” Gülen said. Unfortunately, we have seen black propaganda carried out since Feb. 7, 2012, by the government regarding the Hizmet movement. Some claimed that Hizmet has established a second government and targeted Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Some people even claimed that a bug found at the Prime Ministry was placed by Hizmet supporters. I see such allegations as an effort to drive a wedge between the Hizmet movement and the government that could destabilize Turkey.
