Intercultural Dialogue Platform kicks off “Abraham’s Table Gatherings”

On February 12, the first of the series “Abraham’s Table Gatherings” hosted by Intercultural Dialogue Platform took place with the participation of Catholic Assyrian Church’s members. In attendance of the inaugural gathering were President of Journalists and Writers Foundation Mustafa Yesil and Assyrian Catholic Church Foundation President Zeki Basatemir, both in company with the foundations’ board members, in addition to the church’s deputy-bishop Yusuf Sag.

Intercultural Dialogue Platform operating under the umbrella Journalists and Writers Foundation, through this series, aims to come together with a different group of opinion leaders and authorities representing cultural and religious communities each month. The idea is to bring diversity around a table and offer answers or insights for the common good.

Following the dinner, the two groups exchanged thoughts on various social issues. In the end, the consensus was that the initiatives to convey the message of coexistence and recognition of ‘the other’ to each and every segment of society and eventually to realize a harmonious coexistence must ceaselessly continue.
