28th Abant Platform Convenes to Discuss ‘Diverse Perspectives on Turkey'

The prestigious Abant Platform, which has tackled pressing issues facing Turkey since its establishment in 1998, commenced its 28th meeting on Friday to discuss Turkey's domestic and regional issues with a forum titled “Diverse Perspectives on Turkey.”

The prestigious Abant Platform commenced its 28th meeting on Friday to discuss Turkey's domestic and regional issues with a forum titled “Diverse Perspectives on Turkey.”

Within the scope of the Abant Platform's 28th meeting, nearly 120 intellectuals, journalists and academics from a variety of countries and diverse backgrounds who are currently residing in Turkey will have a chance to meet their Turkish counterparts and have free discussion in five separate workshops: Identities, Demands and New Citizenship; Turkey`s Regional Role and Foreign Policy; EU Negotiation Process and Current Situation; Problems and Difficulties for the New Constitution; and Inclusive Democracy.

The Abant Platform is an independent think tank that takes its name from Lake Abant in the province of Bolu, the location of its first meeting. It is one of the most well-known programs of the Journalists and Writers Foundation (GYV). The GYV was founded in 1994. Its mission and work were inspired by the GYV's honorary president, Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen.
