Mehmet Gündem, Yeni Şafak
I was in the US last week and upon finding an opportunity, I visited Fethullah Gülen in Pennsylvania. Gülen is not just thinking deeply and living deeply, he also deeply influences others to choose to live and think in the same way as he does.
This influence stretches over quite a broad area. It is possible to encounter such an influence even in a forgotten place. Let me stop talking about witnessing such history and tell you about what kind of a place he lives in. With even the first step into his residence, a peaceful atmosphere, hard to experience elsewhere, embraces you. Yet, in such an atmosphere, you think deeply and start analyzing your life, conjuring up a mental picture of the life you have lost. Gülen is suffering not from intellectual or spiritual homesickness, but from physical homesickness. His residence resembles him and has become something "from Turkey." It would not be wrong if I were to say "Gülen is living in Turkey." He already has soil from Turkey in his residence. His residence has been built with "spirit."
