The Prize “For Services To The Truth” Was Awarded To Mazahir Suleymanzade

In collaboration with Press Council and the Azerbaijan Representation of Platform "Dialogue Eurasia" organized next ceremony of "Award For Services To The Truth" honoring Mazahir Suleymanzade.


The awards ceremony dedicated to the 60th anniversary of journalist Mazahir Suleymanzade and was organized with the cooperation of the Platform "Dialogue Eurasia" and Azerbaijan Press Council.

Addressing the meeting, the head of the Press Council Aflatun Amashov expressed his thoughts on the purpose of "Award For Services To The Truth": "The basis of press independence was laid back in the USSR period, and it came from the necessity of the historical period of time." In his speech Amashov said that working in "Communist" newspaper Suleymanzade released supplement to the "1989th Year" named "Sahar" ("Morning"), but over time this application became an independent newspaper, and to this day, "Sahar" newspaper was alerted about the truths of Azerbaijan worldwide.

Azerbaijani representative of the Platform "Dialogue Eurasia" Mustafa Saatchi talks about the responsibility of sharing the truth about the atrocities that have been exposed to the people, and in this respect Mazahir Suleymanzade is greatly valued.

Mr. Saatchi and Mr. Amashov together presented the award "For Services To The Truth" to Mazahir Suleymanzade.

AFFA Head of Public Relations Mikail Narimanoglu and secretary of the Union of Journalists of Azerbaijan Shahin Babayev congratulated M.Suleymanzade and presented him with a diploma and gifts. At the event of the 60th anniversary of journalist Mazahir Suleymanzade all of invited guests expressed their best wishes to celebrant and gave him gifts.

At the end of the ceremony caused widespread interest from the press, ​​Mazahir Suleymanzade made a speech and said that the greatest gift to him was love in the eyes of arrived guests.
