How to topple the gov’t in four steps

Sedat Laçiner, Star

Efforts to overthrow the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government have been continuing since 2002.

To this end, coups were staged, assassinations were carried out and the government was labeled the enemy of the secular regime. And such attempts will surely continue in 2013. The best method to overthrow a government is to “divide and rule.” To achieve this, it is possible to name four different plans: to create tension between the AK Party and the Hizmet movement; to draw liberals away from the AK Party by causing the economy to deteriorate; to set the prime minister against the president; and to further exacerbate the Kurdish-Turkish conflict. Among these, the easiest one to do is the first one because the Hizmet movement is not a political structure; it is a social phenomenon, and it is easy to spread rumors about it. I am afraid we will see more attempts to this end in 2013.
