Place and Role of Tourism in the Intercultural Dialogue

Dedicated to September 27 World Tourism Day, a conference on "The role and place of tourism in the intercultural dialogue", was held in the Azerbaijan Institute of Tourism in preparation for the World Forum for Intercultural Dialogue, which will take place in May 2013.


Speaking at the Conference Rector of AIT (Azerbaijan Institute of Tourism) reported that over the 7 years of existence of the Institute, they have introduced a number of innovations. He said that at this stage, the institute prepares more than 2,000 students at all levels of higher education in the field of tourism.

Coordinator of the Dialogue Eurasia Platform (PDE) on Azerbaijan Mustafa Saatchi, said that this region, starting from the southern borders of Mesopotamia and captured the whole of Asia, has in its fold many cultures, and each person passed through these lands as a tourist believes that the key to happy and peaceful life laid in the joint determination of all these cultures in a single environment. Mustafa Saatchi called all to be responsible for the world, said that all we are sailing on this ship called Earth, towards a common destiny, common welfare and must work together to find solutions to pressing problems of our world.

Cultural Counselor of the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan Seyit Ahmet Arslan spoke at a conference on the theme of "the place and role of tourism in the intercultural dialogue", and in figures show the conference, as well as university students how to develop tourism for years, as it will develop in the future and what we have to do in the name of our country in the field of tourism.

Speaking at the conference, the head of the board «Çağ Öyretim İşletmeleri» Dr. Enver Ozeren spoke about the importance of education in the field of tourism. He said that at the Olympiads, held inside or outside the country, the students, regardless of their language, race, religion is administered in a different cultural environment through education.

Speaking at the conference, the Deputy Representative of the Ministry of Social Information on the UN in Azerbaijan Seferli Wafa, Dean of AIT Nasrallah Nasirli, associate professor of the Institute Minahanum Asadova stated that everyone should contribute to the continuously developing tourism.

Rector of AIT, Professor Jafar Jafarov congratulated all the participants of conference with the International Day of Tourism, at the end.

Conference attracted great interest and has been widely covered in the media.
