KYM Association opened a Logistics Center and a food center with a ceremony attended by the Somali PM Sheikh Sharif Ahmed.

The ceremony was held in the center of the capital city Mogadishu and the Prime Minister gave a speech thanking the Turkish people for all the help.

He stated that the Turks came from far away to help Somali people and in a very different way. "Turkish people, you do not just give food, but are here to leave permanent works. You are here to rebuild this country together" he said.

KYM Association Africa Coordinator Orhan Erdogan thanked the Somali Prime Minister Ahmet for the support given. Erdogan said that the association came to Somalia with the understanding that "You are not one of us if your neighbor is hungry and you are full" as so we established a bridge between Turkey and Somalia in which to bring aid.

Ismail Basaran, a volunteer doctor of KYM, spoke on behalf of all the volunteer doctors saying, "We are working as a team at Benadir Hospital. We have cared for 5 thousand patients in one week and given over 60 surgeries."

After the speech, President Shiekh Sharif Ahmed distributed food packages prepared by KYM officials to the Somali people who joined the ceremony.
