Kimse Yok Mu sent first aid group to Africa

The humanitarian crisis in Africa mobilized the Kimse Yok Mu (KYM) volunteers. Millions of people are face to face with hunger in Somalia and KYM's team went to the capital Mogadishu to organize aid.

Somalia Istanbul Consulate Sermet Cetin, KYM President Unal Ozturk and volunteers honored the Somalia Aid Team by saying farewell as they took off from the Ataturk Airport.

At the Airport, Unal Ozturk said in a statement to the press "We were planning to bring evening meals to 55 countries during Ramadan, but due to the drought Africa became the first priority to help the needy in Somalia, particularly Ethiopia and Uganda."

"We first delivered 150 thousand dollars to the region with the help of our volunteers. This money will be used for water and food aid. We launched the African Food Campaign and after we receive the reports from our team we will establish permanent help such as drilling water wells, Ozturk stated."

"The public shows great sensitivity about helping, especially Mr. Fethullah Gulen's donation of $10,000 which has motivated us very much. We are waiting for all the support of charitable people", said Ozturk.
