BBC Hard Talk about Hizmet movement (VIDEO)

Hizmet movement is on the agenda worldwide due to political developments in Turkey. BBC Hard Talk speaks to Ismail Sezgin, director of the Centre for Hizmet Studies in the UK, an educational think tank founded by supporters of Fethullah Gulen.

The Turkish government is continuing to hunt down people who it claims are followers of Gulen. The government blames Gulen for the recent coup attempt and wants the US to extradite him to Turkey to stand trial. He denies involvement. Ismail Sezgin describes what Hizmet movement stands for, how Gulen interprets Islam, the reason for the movement’s focus on education and if it is a threat to the Turkish state.
