5th Bangla Olympiad award distribution ceremony held

The award distribution ceremony for the 5th Bangla Olympiad of International Turkish Hope School was held on Tuesday in the capital’s Dhaka Regency Hotel.

This year, a total of 938 students from 44 branches of 31 different schools participated in five categories – singing, poetry recitation, essay writing, dancing and drawing.

Among the participants, 105 were awarded with crests and cheques.

In a tribute to all martyrs of 1952, the school celebrates International Mother Language Day by organising a Bangla Olympiad every year. It is an annual inter-school competition arranged for the students to cultivate their interest and intellect in Bangla. Schools and colleges of both English and Bangla medium curriculum took part in the competition which was held on February 13.

The award ceremony was attended by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam as chief guest and Director General of National Academy for Educational Management Hamidul Haque as special guest.

The principal of International Turkish Hope School Bedrettin Suata presented crests of appreciation to the chief and special guests.

Shahriar Alam congratulated the organisers and the school and handed over laptops with Bangla keyboards installed to all participating schools’ principals to encourage further education of the Bangla language.
