Deputy PM Bozdağ attends opening of Turkish school in Cameroon

Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdağ attended the opening of a Turkish school in Cameroon, established by the Aziz Mahmut Hüdayi Foundation, on Saturday.

On the second day of his visit to Cameroon, Bozdağ participated in the opening ceremony of the school, which is in the city of Maroua. After being greeted by a huge show of love from Cameroonians and Turkish people, Bozdağ delivered a speech at the ceremony expressing his thanks to the Aziz Mahmut Hüdayi Foundation and saying the school is a concrete indicator of friendship between Turkey and Cameroon. “Education and knowledge are indispensable for countries' development. My answer is education if I am asked what is the greatest power in the world,” said Bozdağ.

The Cameroonian students greeted Bozdağ at the school by saying “Hoşgeldiniz bakanım” (“Welcome minister”), while Bozdağ wrote on the board of a classroom, “Dear children: Planned, disciplined and continuous work is the key to success.” The Turkish Cooperation and Development Agency (TİKA) supported the school with a new computer laboratory. Bozdağ wrote the Arabic for “God” on one of the school computers. The opening ceremony ended with a group photo.
