The First IFLC Event In India Received Both Love And Applause

At the 14th International Festival of Language & Culture (IFLC 2016), more than 400 students from 17 nations of different languages and cultures get assembled at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi on the premise Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – The world is one family to ascertain global peace and cultural harmony. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Najma Heptullah (Minister of Minority Affairs) in the august presence of Acharya Balkrishna (Managing Director Patanjali), Swami Agnivesh, Mr. Ersin Karaoglan president of Educational Endowment Trust and many other distinguished personalities.

In the welcome speech Mr. Ersin Karaoglan said, “IFLC plants a field of harmony and understanding between the people, no matter from which culture, language, religion you are, but we have so many commonalities to share. We believe that these ideas will be harvested in the future as friendship and universal peace.”

Students from 17 countries namely India, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Tanzania, Tunisia, Ukraine, Hungary, US-TX, Georgia and Russia enthused the audience with their colourful performances of songs and dances. They all sung the national anthem ‘Jan Gan Man Adhinayak’ with full of devotion and respect. Moreover, the choir ‘Colors of the World’ by the students of India, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan wove a magic spell in the stadium.

Dr. Najma Heptullah welcomes the IFLC in India and she motivated the students as well as organisers in the following words.” I am amazed to see the spirit of these young students, in fact, they are the real emissaries of peace, who represents not a country or state, but the entire universe. Besides, the commitment shown by the Educational Endowment Trust is really a benchmark for other organisations working in this direction.

Amidst the high voltage cultural extravaganza the entry of Acharya Balkrisha was really an auspicious moment. He was also conferred with ‘Global Peace’ award by IFLC on this occasion. He extended humble gratitude to the Educational Endowment Trust and commented, “From the core of my heart, I welcome the IFLC, my best wishes are with you and I will be pleased to support this mission in all possible manners.”

43 students and 18 mentors from abroad and more than 350 students from various reputed schools of Delhi namely Springdale’s School, The Frank Antony Public School, Ahlcon International School, Mata Guruji School, Tagore International School and Bluebells International School made the event vivaciously colourful with their brilliant performances. They truly translated the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – The world is one family, through their songs and dances.

Addressing to the media Mr. Bilal Acikgoz, IFLC India Spokesperson 2016, said, “India with its rich history of diversity of language, regional’s and cultures co existing since centuries is apt for propagating the theme of universal brotherhood and peace. Moreover it has a large youth population which can be in the fore front of leading a global movement in its direction. In India we have seen tremendous talent and potential in the local students. They deserve serious attention of global educational and cultural organisations. The Educational Endowment Trust itself is keen to explore the talents of Indian students in other parts of India as well, especially in states like Maharashtra, UP, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Uttrakhand.”

Mrs. Ameeta Mulla Wattal, Spokesperson IFLC 2016 and Principal of Springdales School, Mr. Stephen DaCosta, Spokeperson IFLC 2016 and Principal of Frank Anthony Public School, Mr. Rajiv Chandran, National Information Officer of United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan also graced the organisation with their avid presence. On this occasion, Mrs. Wattal said, “IFLC brings a collective consciousness by bringing youth together from across the world through music, dance and culture.”

IFLC is a global effort to facilitate a cordial engagement between the young change makers from different parts of the world. IFLC has been organised for the past 14 years, showcasing both the rich multicultural diversity of our world as well as the amazing talent of young students. It is an annual celebration that presents a range of linguistic and cultural diversity from around the world. The 14th international festival of language and culture accomplished in promoting its admirable aim of uniting the world.
